When you first begin college you most likely know that you will write many essays and you know that what you have learned from high school will help you write these essays as well as improve them moving forward. Although it’s not what I originally thought college essays were going to be like, I figured that they will be tougher and harder to grasp. However, I’ve learned many objectives throughout my college writing thus far, including writing pertaining to a certain audience, writing a narrative based on personal experiences and even exploring rhetorical aspects of certain papers and articles. Overall, writing a variety of different essays has complimented my writing and allowed my writing to thrive under different conditions and certain formats.

Different essays could help people broaden one’s writing abilities and one’s cultivation into new areas of writing. As someone who wasn’t the best writer, writing a research paper and a rhetorical analysis paper has helped me learn and adapt my writing to different areas of expertise. Such as in my research paper, I analyzed a vast amount of information on my topic, and with hefty research it led me to use logos to fully extrapolate key details and overall reiterate information. When writing my research paper, I thought about what type of rhetorical strategies to use and what will help me discuss and explain to my intended audience the information provided. When reading about my topic, I ran through a variation of different articles, books and pictures that enticed me to use logos, during my use of logos it provided me to increase my knowledge of this rhetorical device. When writing my research paper, I thought of my rhetorical situation which was to which audience I was informing, as well as the purpose for writing this paper. It allowed me to indulge in different genres in writing and allowed me to comprehend the vast amount of literature. Writing this paper also allowed me to capture how different people and authors write to convey their ideas and beliefs in which they see will help their readers or audience comprehend a certain topic or idea. 

How a certain way an author speaks to empower others to do especially in different linguistic adaptations. For example, when reading about cancer vaccines in different articles and videos it showcased different ways authors used to enforce their ideas about cancer vaccines as well as their adaptations about the future and the present. They used their own process to cultivate their writing as well as explain different aspects of other situations towards a broader perspective. One of the main parts of any paper, essay, article, graph or even book is that they always focus on a certain audience which indulges upon what they believe. For example when I wrote my research essay, my main audience would be teenagers and adults because they would seem more interested in this type of topic as well as the language I used would be more prevalent to people who are older and will understand the objective that I make clear. One essay I really enjoyed writing is my rhetorical analysis paper due to exploring the many different types of rhetorical devices and strategies. This essay allowed me to see the ways authors use not just one or two strategies but a variety of strategies. Although I didn’t use many rhetorical strategies and devices towards my writing, I focused on one or two specific strategies or devices in my essays and it helped me see the expertise between me and a published author. I learned how these essays could also have more than one point or ideas due to my language narrative essay in which I wrote about a certain personal experience. During this essay, I learned to not only write about an experience I went through as well as how language is the basis of life and it has impacted the way we live and the way we communicate. I’ve learned that having two different points can lead to a broader meaning overall as well as true meaning in writing.

In conclusion, I’ve analyzed and written 3 very different types of essays and have learned from every single one of them. From making more than one point of idea in a piece of writing to using rhetorical strategies and devices in my own writing. Overall, all these essays that I have written have benefited me and will help me improve my writing going further.
